The Washington State House of Representatives has passed a bill that would allow for the construction of duplexes and fourplexes in most neighborhoods. FOX13
In Seattle, most residential areas allow at least three units per lot with significant restrictions following a 2019 change.was amended a second time in committee.
In the amendment, the fourplex requirement initially applied to suburbs in Spokane and Tacoma, as well as Seattle, but it was changed to just include Seattle. The amendment also changed the threshold for population and proximity to transit in regards to the construction of duplexes vs fourplexes., was introduced in the 2021-22 legislative session, but it was returned to the Rules Committee for a second reading and was never passed.
