Warren Buffett bought $114.75 worth of stock at age 11 – here's how much he says it'd be worth now. via CNBCMakeIt

At 88, Berkshire Hathaway chairman and CEO Warren Buffett is worth around $84.2 billion, according to Forbes. Nicknamed the"Oracle of Omaha" thanks to his Midas touch within the stock market, Buffett's tenure as an investor started almost eight decades ago.

Based on that, his stake would have been worth $606,811 on Jan. 31, 2019, Buffett wrote in his letter. "To 'protect' yourself, you might have eschewed stocks and opted instead to buy 3 1⁄4 ounces of gold with your $114.75. And what would that supposed protection have delivered? You would now have an asset worth about $4,200, less than 1% of what would have been realized from a simple unmanaged investment in American business. The magical metal was no match for the American mettle," Buffett wrote.
