Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav was greeted by boos and disapproving chants during a speech he gave on Sunday.
Zaslav was slated to give the commencement speech at Boston University amid the Writers Guild of America strike. Some 11,500 writers, including some employed by Warner Bros. Discovery, have been on strike since May 2 after failing to negotiate higher wages. As soon as Zaslav was introduced at the BU graduation ceremony, students in the crowd reacted with boos.Chants of"pay your writers, pay your writers," broke out as Zaslav was speaking.
