It’s the same stupidity as going back to punish Dundas.Instead of cancelling Dundas, Anthony Furey will cancel the plans to rename it.
“The corner of Yonge and Dundas has become a mess due to the drug crisis. But instead of dealing with this real problem, City Hall is focused on the distraction of renaming Dundas St.,” said Furey. “As Mayor, I’ll redirect our priorities. I won’t rename Dundas St. but I will phase out the harmful injection site on Dundas.
Of course, lots of us have been saying how insane it is to try to right wrongs of the past by tearing down statues or renaming roadways.Still, these governments will spend millions on projects that make people feel good but take money that could actually help people. There are a lot of people who need help out there.
