On Dec. 15, two subway riders were randomly attacked in separate incidents at Kennedy Station. Brandonn Sevilla-Zelaya, 25, was charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm and uttering a threat. “He was helped off the tracks before the train approached,” said Toronto Police Const. Caroline de Kloet.

While allegations against those charged in these recent incidents have not been tested in court, there will be no second chances for two of these victims. In some ways, riders are sitting ducks because those in charge lack answers when it comes to ensuring safety on the transit system.
