“They were displaced by the ongoing war,” said Shawn Chorney, Canadore’s vice president of strategic infrastructure, indigenous and learner services. The brother and sister were introduced to the Canadore family thanks to Vlad Shehovtsov, who is now working in Parry Sound but had been an economic development officer in North Bay and knew this would be a perfect fit for that talented duo and the amazing arts programs offered at Canadore.Article content

It has turned out to be a win-win situation. They are now here studying on a three-year scholarship and they are doing whatever they can to contribute their efforts to Canadore College and Canada as a whole.
