Polar Coachman Flyfishers Club hosting open house on Thursday May 25 at Spruce City Wildlife Society hatchery
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to cast a flyfishing rod to try to catch a whopper of a fish, you might want to show up at the Spruce City Wildlife Association hatchery at 1384 River Rd. next week.
The free event will include demonstrations on casting, fly-tying and knot-tying and will showcase some of the gear and equipment that’s available. “The Spruce City Wildlife Association hopes to have some information there about the hatchery program they’re working on, because it’s at the hatchery,” said Polar Coachman club director Glen Mikkelsen. “So you can learn about some of the work they’ve been doing on salmon recovery programs.”
