Walmart offers gift cards to Alabama customers who were double-charged tax on Sept. 1 following an adjustment to the state's grocery tax rate.
The retail giant made an error in Alabama on Sept. 1, taxing customers twice. The chain is now offering $5 gift cards to customers who were affected. The offer is only available until Sept. 18.
The company is now offering gift cards to anyone who was overcharged during the period of malfunction. The $5 Walmart gift cards will be issued to customers who bring their Sept. 1 receipt showing they were overcharged to customer service at any location.
