Now, the automaker is looking to give the model a ‘proper’ name and they’re enlisting the public’s help. While public naming contests have a tendency to go awry, such as the infamous Boaty McBoatface incident,
is incentivizing meaningful entries by holding a contest that will reward the person who makes the winning submission with a $1,000 gift card and a four-person ski trip to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.and entries will be judged on a 100 point scale. Up to 50 points will be awarded for relevancy as Jeep wants a name that is “relevant/appealing to a significant portion of the consumer base and relevant to the vehicle itself.
Jeep CEO Christian Meunier remarked, we are “providing owners and enthusiasts an opportunity to submit a name for the first-ever electric Wagoneer. This premium and highly efficient SUV is loaded with technology, craftsmanship and performance, expanding our presence in the premium mid-sized SUV segment and it will become an essential player in our global EV product offensive.”will have 600 hp and be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately 3.5 seconds.
The production model will be introduced soon as Jeep will begin accepting reservations in early 2023. Production will follow in 2024 and the model will be offered in “major markets around the world, including Europe.”
