One Billion Rising Revolution has for 25 years been urging activists around the world to stage annual grassroots “V-Day” events on or around Valentine’s Day on campuses and in communities to “end violence against women, gender-expansive people, girls and the planet,” according to its website. “But we do want to encourage the election of officials that care about ending gender-based violence against women,” she said.Article content
