VMAs host Sebastian Maniscalco teases an unpredictable show 'absent of politics' VMAs

with Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. "I had to kind of think about it. It's close to what I do in standup comedy but hosting a show of this size is something that is really out of my wheelhouse."

The VMAs are known for being one of the edgiest awards shows of the year. How do you plan to infuse your specific brand of comedy into what is typically a very irreverent event? I've never had a problem with any of the jokes that I make. For the most part, they're not commentary on all of these things that are going on in society right now. My jokes are absent of politics. They're basically jokes about the most mundane things, whether it be about the subway or flying or talking about my immigrant father. I'm not touching any hot buttons in my comedy and that won't change for the VMAs.
