A former councillor and a former administrator for the village were elected.
The Village of Sayward will see a former two-time councillor and a former village administrator join council ranks after two members resigned this year.
Coates, a retired Sayward Elementary School secretary, is returning to Sayward council for a third time.Johnson, who was Sayward’s chief administrative officer for about a year in 2022, told the Times Colonist he expects to be sworn in this summer after the village has an active corporate officer as Sayward’s current chief administrative officer is on leave. “That role needs to get filled first before new candidates can be sworn in.
“I’ve been pretty active in the community,” he said. “We’ve been here for about three years now and have no plans to go anywhere.”
