Nathan Coleman, a Weather Network journalist, described speaking to a woman who ran through bushes to save dogs at a kennel after reportedly being told by authorities: “If they’re humans, we have buses to go get them. If they’re dogs, it is what it is.”
In what is likely the largest fire response operation since the Halifax Regional Municipality was amalgamated in 1996, 170 firefighters and 54 vehicles worked through the night.
