The girlfriend of a motorcyclist is speaking out after he was killed in a crash on Highway 4 over Memorial Day weekend.
Randolph tried calling Haynes to tell him she had been delayed, but got no response. Stuck in traffic, she decided to check social media for more information.
Randolph eventually pulled off to the shoulder and walked towards the scene. It was one of her worst fears. According to CHP, Haynes crashed into the rear end of a Kia Optima, which caused him to be thrown off the bike. He was pronounced dead on the scene.A CHP spokesperson said the most recent stretch of fatal accidents on Highway 4 isn’t much different than the dangers they are seeing across the county.
“Even that night as I look back and reflect, it was the holiday weekend. I didn’t see any CHP," Randolph said.
