One of the big players of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was Miguel O'Hara, better known to Marvel fans as Spider-Man 2099, who quickly became Miles' rival, as the two heroes clashed in their multiverse philosophies. While Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse details are being kept under wraps, Miguel will be serving a massive role once again.
Made by @JuniiPeri, the TikTok artist imagined what it would look like if Spider-Man 2099 got possessed by the Venom symbiote. While Miguel was already terrifying in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the Venom-infected Spider-Man 2099 takes it to a whole new level.
Given how Venom: Let There Be Carnage casually introduced the concept of Symbiotes being aware of other universes, it would make perfect sense for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse to take it a step further. With the Spider-Verse films essentially tied to Sony's Spider-Man Universe, having at least one Venom variant in the third and final film would be able to emphasize the point that these films are in one way or another connected.
Time will tell what the creative team has in store for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, especially as the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strikes are still happening. No matter how long the wait will be, it will hopefully be worth it as they close out Miles' Spider-Verse trilogy. For now, fans will be able to relive Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on digital from August 8, or home media starting on September 5.
