CARACAS - Venezuela’s opposition said on Sunday it will return to Barbados to continue talks with the government of President Nicolas Maduro as part of efforts to resolve the South American nation’s political crisis.
The communications team for opposition leader Juan Guaido, who is recognized by more than 50 countries as Venezuela’s legitimate leader, said on Twitter the delegation was returning “to achieve change that can end Venezuelans’ suffering.” Opposition activists have been wary of dialogue for years, insisting Maduro has used it as a stalling tactic in the past.
