Opinion: Reliable access to hydropower is one of the major impediments to the Ksi Lisims LNG project
Central to the net-zero goal is obtaining a reliable supply of electricity to replace the more traditional natural-gas power for an LNG terminal.

The Lax Kw’alaams urged the assessment office to recommend termination or, failing that, to send the project back to the proponent for reworking.But not without noting that she shares “many of the same concerns that Lax Kw’alaams Band, and other participants in the process, have raised in terms of the potential effects of the project on climate and the province’s ability to meet its legislated climate targets.
In talking to reporters last week, Eby emphasized that a partnership with the Nisga’a and other Indigenous nations is fundamental to major resource projects in B.C.
