'Yea, people are going to die, which is terrible, but like inevitable,' actor and singer Vanessa Hudgens said in an Instagram Live session that has now gone viral.
Hudgens made the comment on Instagram Live on Monday. A clip of the video went viral after it was shared on Twitter on Tuesday. Hundreds of people were angered by Hudgens' perceived insensitivity.
"The selfishness of these kids is infuriating. Some of us have loved ones who are extremely vulnerable," another Twitter user wrote. Many countries, including some U.S. states and cities, have initiated shutdowns in effort to prevent further spread of the virus. In California—the state in which Hudgens resides and where more than 470 people have been infected by coronavirus—officials announced plans to help limit human interaction by discontinuing seated-service at restaurants and bars. In New York, entire school districts have closed to help keep locals safe.
