Air Canada and WestJet flights between Vancouver and Prince George have been cancelled.

Vancouver International Airport temporarily suspended all incoming and outgoing flights Tuesday morning, after a snowstorm dumped 25 cm of snow on metro Vancouver overnight.

According to the Prince George Airport, all Air Canada and WestJet flights to and from Vancouver up until 2:30 p.m. today have been cancelled. Flights between Prince George and Vancouver after 2:30 p.m. today are still scheduled to be on time. Pacific Coastal Airlines service to Victoria and WestJet service to Calgary were not impacted by the cancellations.A statement from the Vancouver International Airport said it was dealing with the "mass cancellations" and working to "to deplane passengers safely and deliver luggage to them in the terminal."

"Passengers who are expecting to fly today and this week are advised to check with their airline directly on the status of their flight. We are asking people to please not come to YVR if you do not absolutely need to," airport spokeswoman Megan Sutton said in an emailed statement. BC Ferries also canceled all morning sailings between the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and southern Gulf Islands on Tuesday.
