Chat with artists at the Vancouver Mural Festival.

Vancouver-based Kickstart Disability Arts & Culture is a professional arts organization whose website notes it “has been supporting and promoting Mad, Deaf and Disabled Artists since 1998.”

Kickstart and the VMF formed a partnership in 2021 to highlight the work being done by talented creatives who might not otherwise have the chance to display their work at the scale seen in many of the 400 murals brought to life over the past seven years of the VMF. By incorporating smaller-scale mobile murals through the Murals Without Walls’ project, artists can exhibit at the City Centre Artist Lodge. On Aug. 12 there will be ais one of this year’s participants in Murals Without Walls and has produced a piece titled Dream Without Borders. The four-by-four-foot wooden canvas is in keeping with the artist’s whimsical and uplifting work exploding with bright colours and complex backgrounds.
