The WHL Western Conference opening-round series was finalized on Tuesday, with the Blazers’ 6-3 loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds locking Kamloops down as the second seed while the Giants’ 3-2 overtime win over the host Portland Winterhawks did the same with Vancouver and the seventh spot. This is the final week of the WHL regular season. The Giants have a home-and-home weekend with the eighth-place Kelowna Rockets , with a Friday night game at the LEC and then a Saturday match-up at Prospera Place .
