Sewage leak shouldn’t effect this weekend’s Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival, organizers say
Organizers of this weekend’s Dragon Boat Festival in Vancouver say a sewage leak into False Creek where the races are held won’t have a major effect on the event.
Dragon Boat BC says in a statement that it determined the “pipe break” would not have any significant impact on the races, after consultations with Metro Vancouver, the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Coastal Health. Carter says his team responded to the site at about 8 a.m. and soon managed to isolate the problem pipe.
