VANCOUVER — J.T. Miller's tumultuous time in Vancouver has come to an end, with the Canucks dealing the star centre to the New York Rangers.

"Both Filip and Victor are good additions for our club and we are excited to see what they bring to us on the ice.” Later Friday, the Canucks acquired defenceman Marcus Pettersson and forward Drew O'Connor from the Pittsburgh Penguins. It has been a difficult season for both the Canucks and the 31-year-old Miller, who stepped away from the team in November for personal reasons and missed 10 games. The six-foot-one 218-pound forward from East Palestine, Ohio, had career highs in both goals and points last season. He added three goals and nine assists in 13 playoff appearances before Vancouver was eliminated in the second round.

Miller was picked 15th overall by the Rangers in the 2011 draft and played parts of six seasons for New York before he was dealt to Tampa Bay in February 2018. He's played parts of eight seasons for New York, registering 75 goals and 89 assists across 378 regular-season games.
