The University of Virginia students blamed Israel for the invasion in a group statement.
A student-led group at the University of Virginia is facing heat from a state official after blaming Israel for its invasion by terrorist organization Hamas.Sunday in support of "Palestinian liberation" after the Hamas attack.
The student group noted that it mourns "the loss of human life" while also believing in "the right of colonized people" to "resist the occupation of their land by whatever means they deem necessary." "You cannot 'mourn the loss of human life' and 'hope for long-lasting peace' and also cheer on the murder, rape, and hostage-taking by Hamas, a terrorist organization that exists for the destruction and murder of Jewish people," Miyareson X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Tuesday.
The National Desk reached out to UVA for comment on the student group's statement and Miyares's reaction Wednesday, but did not immediately receive a response. This story will be updated if a response is received.
