That’s what became clear on Tuesday when the CFP released its penultimate rankings. The Trojans moved up two spots from No. 6 to No. 4, putting USC in the projected field for this season’s four-team playoff.The latest rankings make things clear for USC entering Friday’s Pac-12 championship game in Las Vegas: Beat No. 11 Utah and improve to 12-1 on the season, and earn a playoff spot for the first time since the format was introduced in 2014.
