China lashes out at the US over a new law related to Uighurs, saying “Washington should save the labels of forced labour and genocide for itself”
China has deplored the new law, accusing the US of violating market principles and commercial ethics, as well as interfering in China’s internal affairs.
The law in question is the Uighur Forced Labor Prevention Act signed into law by US President Joe Biden onThe US law bans imports from the Uighur-majority Xinjiang Autonomous Region in northwestern China and imposes sanctions on foreign individuals responsible for alleged forced labor in the region.According to China, the move "will only undermine the stability of global industrial and supply chains, disrupt international trade order and hurt the US’ own interests and credibility.
The US was accused of “engaging in political manipulation and economic coercion,” asserting that “allegations of ‘forced labour’ and ‘genocide’ in Xinjiang are nothing but vicious lies concocted by anti-China forces,” the statement said.
