POWER OF THE DOLLAR: US ranks as ‘top destination’ for summer travelers, expert says
"The fact that the dollar is so strong is what's [incentivizing] them to get back to Europe, and right now," Belles said. "So you've got this excess savings, this wealth factor that comes into play as well, and then you just have people who are tired of looking at their own four walls at home and are eager to get out and see something else."
The U.S. was Virtuoso's top-ranked destination for summer travel in 2022, partly due to"dollar-euro parity," Virtuoso Vice President of Global Public Relations Misty Belles said on"Mornings with Maria" Wednesday, August 17, 2022."There's so much pent-up demand. People are so eager to get back at it and to make up for the two and a half years that they lost in travel time," Belles said.
