Developer Hines is constructing an apartment tower and restaurant building adjacent to Uptown Dallas' historic Maple Terrace building.

The landmark Maple Terrace, a historical apartment building in Uptown area of Dallas, is shown in 2020.The thousands of people who’ve lived at the Maple Terrace over the decades wouldn’t recognize the place.

The mixed-use project will include a new residential high-rise, luxury office space and street-front retail. Most of the more than 150,000 square feet of office space will be in the original Maple Terrace building, which opened in 1925 as one of Dallas’ most exclusive residential addresses. Ben Brewer, Hines' senior managing director, talks about the office and residential construction at the Maple Terrace development along Maple Avenue and Wolf Street in Dallas on Nov. 30.

“We looked the Uptown office market and the success of Old Parkland” in Oak Lawn, Brewer said. “We felt like there are companies that are going to want to office in a very nice building that has history associated with it.”
