The agreement also included a general wage increase of three per cent effective May 1, 2023, and two 1.5 per cent increases effective May 1, 2024, and November 2024 respectively.
The release said CUPE 1870 represents approximately 345 support and administrative employees at UPEI. Meanwhile, the university remains in conciliation with IBEW 1928, while members of the UPEI Faculty Association continue their strike action after negotiations fell apart.
