Miranda Hatt’s goal at 8:48 of the third period on a 5-on-3 power play broke a 3-3 tie and the Huskies would add an empty-net goal in the final minute to defeat UPEI 5-3 in women’s action.Before 276 fans in Halifax, N.S., Robert-Tye Rice and Drake Pilon scored early first-period goals to stake the Panthers to a 2-0 lead.

Jaden Peca, Danil Antropov and Darian Pilon earned assists for the Panthers, who have won three straight games and take a 4-3-0-0 record into a home game against the Acadia Axemen at MacLauchlan Arena on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.A banner-raising ceremony for Bruce Donaldson at MacLauchlan Arena took place before an Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey game between the UPEI Panthers and Saint Mary’s Huskies on Oct 28.
