Pending further court proceedings, Walker will remain in custody, a United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon spokesman said via email.
Walker is a prominent author and leading employee at the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, whose disappearance attracted national attention as police scoured the South Saskatchewan River in hopes of finding her and the child. Saskatoon police are consulting with the Crown in Saskatchewan to arrange for Walker’s future extradition to Canada, a police news release said.Article content
