Police responded after a violent altercation took place Wednesday shortly before 5 p.m.

A man is in hospital in stable condition and two people were arrested and will appear in court today after a stabbing incident Wednesday in Williams Lake.

On Wednesday, shortly before 5 p.m., RCMP were called to a motel on 7th Ave in the city where it was reported that a person had been stabbed multiple times. Police quickly identified two possible suspects and went to a home on 2nd Avenue, where it was believed both suspects had fled following the assault.

Due to the seriousness of the assault, and evidence observed at and in the area of the home, police called for the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services , as well as closed several streets in the area to traffic.
