Police were asking public to avoid 500 block of Albert Street West
The residents of a multi-unit building on Albert Street West were allowed to re-enter the building.SooToday will have more information when it becomes available.Sault Police are on the scene of a multi-unit residence in Jamestown after someone reported a person with a firearm.
"There is currently a significant police presence in the 500 block of Albert Street West," says a brief news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. "Around 3:30 p.m. officers received information someone at a multi-unit residence on Albert Street West had a firearm."This is the second major police incident this afternoon. Earlier today, officers made an arrest after a two-hour standoff on Sussex Road.
