The crash at Montgomery Field happened around 11:50 a.m. Saturday, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue.
SAN DIEGO – The pilot of a small plane that crashed at Montgomery Field Saturday afternoon has died from their injuries, according to the San Diego Police Department.
A man was on board when the plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Montgomery Field. They were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. SDPD confirmed to 10News around 9 p.m. that he died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. — SDFD November 5, 2022 City and County Hazmat teams were also on the scene to clean up a fuel spill on the field, according to San Diego police. There was no fire or explosion at the time of the crash.
