Cape Breton Regional Police, along with fire crews from Glace Bay and Tower Road stations, were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to the Lake Road area of Glace Bay, where they found an unresponsive man next to a vehicle partially submerged in water. SALTWIRE NETWORK FILEGLACE BAY, N.S. — A 22-year-old Glace Bay man found unresponsive Wednesday near a partially submerged vehicle has died, according to Cape Breton Regional Police.

Police and firefighters responded to a call at approximately 2:30 p.m. with a report of a waterlogged vehicle located in the Lake Road area of Glace Bay.Members of the Glace Bay and Tower Road fire departments assisted with removing the man from the water before being transported to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.Police also reported Thursday that the vehicle has been seized for mechanical inspection as part of the ongoing investigation into the single-vehicle collision.
