UpAuto has added a second Honda store to its growing dealership portfolio with the purchase of Stratford Honda in its home market west of Toronto.
The Stratford, Ont.-based dealership group that now owns five new-vehicle stores in small cities and towns in Ontario disclosed the acquisition April 29 without sharing the terms. “The purchase of Stratford Honda represents an exciting strategic opportunity for our company to grow and expand the brands we represent, while extending our footprint in the Stratford area,” UpAuto CEO Michael Carmichael, said in a release.
Carmichael added that the company’s latest purchase comes at a “pivotal moment” as the auto industry, including Honda, transitions to electric vehicles. UpAuto, which focuses on nonmetro markets, also owns Stratford Subaru, Hanover Honda, St. Marys Buick GMC and Easthill Volkswagen.“We look forward to building upon the remarkable foundation laid by John, his family and team over the past 35 years,” Carmichael said.
