Metrolinx says the UP Express trains have resumed service between Union and Pearson after being shut down Saturday for maintenance.
The UP Express train service between Union Station and Pearson Airport has resumed Sunday morning after aMetrolinx said the first train departed Union Station at 6 a.m., and service will run every 30 minutes between the two sites while making stops at Bloor and Weston stations.
Service on the downtown-airport line was reduced on Friday after thermal cracks were discovered on the brake discs of several trains during a scheduled inspection. Most of the train fleet was removed, stretching commuters’ wait time from 25 minutes to an hour.
