The University of Texas fired the head coach of its men’s basketball team Thursday, weeks after Chris Beard was arrested for allegedly assaulting his fiancée.
“The University of Texas has parted ways with Chris Beard,” athletic director Chris Del Conte said Thursday. He said he informed Mr. Beard of the decision Thursday.
