Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and the United States win the SheBelieves Cup final against Canada in a penalty shootout. The game ended with an all-action finish, including a late equalizer by Canada and missed opportunities by both teams.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and the United States defeated Canada 5-4 in a penalty shootout for the second game in a row Tuesday to win the SheBelieves Cup final.
Canada was looking to avenge a penalty shootout semifinal loss to the U.S. in the CONCACAF W Gold Cup on a waterlogged field in San Diego on March 6. The U.S. almost tied it three minutes later but Alex Morgan's shot from inside the penalty box hit a Canadian defender. Canada had previously taken part in the tournament twice, finishing third in 2021 and fourth in 2023.
