Carli Lloyd made history as the U.S. claimed bronze in women's soccer at the Tokyo2020 Olympics.
Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd each scored twice for the U.S., while Sam Kerr, Caitlin Foord and Emily Gielnik scored for Australia.
Lloyd's pair of markers made her the all-time Olympic scorer for Team USA, as she surpassed women's soccer legend Abby Wambach. The result comes following Team Canada's surprising 1-0 win over the Americans in the Tokyo semifinals. Canada is set to face Sweden on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET / Friday, 11 a.m. JST, though both teams requested the kickoff time be adjusted due to extreme heat. The weather forecast says temperatures in Tokyo will reach 31 C around kickoff time.
