A late goal broke a scoreless tie, handing the UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer a 1-0 loss on Friday in Victoria to the UVic Vikes.
Attempting to play a bouncing ball out of harm’s way, a UNBC clearing attempt hit an oncoming Vikes in the midsection and bounced right to Brianne McLeish, who poked it past a sprawling Hinsche to make it 1-0 in the 86th minute.Meanwhile, the men’s soccer team lost 2-0 to the Vikes, with UVic scoring on penalty kicks.
