Amarpreet (Chucky) Samra had been on the dance floor less than 30 minutes before he was shot outside Vancouver's Fraserview Hall.

Both Samra and his older brother, Ravinder, were invited guests at the wedding.which has been involved in a decade-long conflict with rivals that now reaches across the province and beyond. Tania Visintin said Sunday that 911 calls started coming in at 1:30 a.m. about the shooting.

Samra has also been the subject of two civil forfeiture cases where the B.C. government obtained orders to seize his vehicle and tens of thousands in cash. The statement of claim said Samra and his associate ditched the Mustang and were arrested with the help of a police dog. A handgun was later located in recycling bin. All but $9,000 of the cash was forfeited to the government.that warned they could be targeted by rivals and urged the public to steer clear of them and others on the list.
