The Ukrainian Canadian Congress is demanding Canada expel Russian diplomats after a group vandalized a yellow-and-blue painted bicycle outside the Russian Embassy in Ottawa last month.

Orest Zakydalsky, a senior policy adviser with the UCC, told a parliamentary committee on Wednesday that the Russian Embassy “is a security threat to Canadians” and was unsure why the federal government hasn’t taken action against Russian diplomats. “We’ve seen several countries in Europe expel numerous Russian diplomats, and we’ve not seen Canada expel any Russian diplomats since February,” he said.
