UK weather: Snow and -4C to make Britain ‘colder than Russia’ as arctic plunge hits

Parts of the UK will actually feel colder than Volgograd in Russia, where it’s currently 1C

The cold snap comes following a relatively mild week, which saw the UK experience highs of around 12C. Warmer air will however, be forced southeast as the cold front moves in.warnings for both ice and snow are currently in place across Scotland and are set to remain until Sunday. According to the weather forecaster, this means that “some roads and railways [are] likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
