“If a firefighter who fought the Fort McMurray fire is diagnosed with a list of cancers on or after the date of royal assent, his or her claim qualifies for the exposure period exemption,” he said. There is currently no provision restricting individuals who are the subject of a warrant from getting benefits. In an effort to improve outbreak response, the province is updating the definition of “bee disease” and expanding the list of threats to bee health to include pests.
