Asylum-seekers will have to find their own way through dangerous Mexican border roads.

In a statement, acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf said the program has been “an extremely effective tool.” “I am confident in the program’s continued success in adjudicating meritorious cases quickly and preventing fraudulent claims,” Wolf wrote. A three-judge appeals court panel heard arguments Oct. 1 in San Francisco on a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union to block the policy. The court has yet to rule.
