Authorities searching for Jacob Greer found his car with a suicide note inside, but no body
Jacob Greer, 28, was charged with receipt and possession of child pornography in April 2016.
The following week, a different car associated with Greer was found at a campsite in Flathead, Montana by the U.S. Forestry Service. He purchased the car with a loan of $1,000 from a friend, investigators discovered. They also determined that he left Iowa with “money, a bow, arrows and a backpack full of survival gear.”Article content
He was planning to hide in abandoned cabins and “live off the land” in upper western states or southern Canada, investigators learned after conducting interviews. They said he was a “survivalist.”
