The economic power of U.S. Latinos nationwide, including Florida, continues to grow so quickly that, if it were an independent country, its gross domestic product, or GDP, would rank as the world's fifth-largest, according to a new report.
Latino economic output was concentrated in 10 states
Florida’s GDP was almost $259 billion, third behind Texas and California. GDP is the sum of all goods and services produced within a nation's borders. In terms of percentage growth between 2015 and 2020, the fastest growing state Latino populations are those not typically perceived as ones where Latinos have settled in large numbers. The top three were New Hampshire , South Dakota and Maine , followed by North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Idaho, Vermont, Tennessee, Ohio and Alabama.
