The University of Michigan has spent over $12 million for a third-party investigation into the events that led to the firing of the school’s former head football coach and the culture of the athletic department, Most recently, the public university paid Jenner & Block, a private law firm hired in late 2025, nearly $200,000 for professional services through May 31, according to invoices theobtained through the Michigan Freedom of Information Act. That brings UM’s tab for the investigation to over $12 million.
