A British Conservative police commissioner (PCC) who took office on a pledged tough-on-crime platform has been banned from driving for six months after being busted speeding five times over the last 12 months. — via drivingdotca speeding
Speed cameras captured Henry speeding multiple times in her district, including twice near a primary school. To her credit, she wasn’t exactly stunt driving, but rather clocked at 40 mph in a 30-mph zone and later at 35 mph and 38 mph . For her repeat transgressions, she has received a £2,450 fine and a six-month driving ban.
“What they show is that you are driving at consistent speeds above the speed limits,” district judge Leo Pyle concluded. Following the court appearance where she lost the right to drive, Henry made this statement to the media, as reported by: “I am truly sorry for speeding,” she said. “Quite properly, today at Nottingham magistrates court I have been fined and banned from driving for six months… I remain committed to serving the people of Nottinghamshire as police and crime commissioner.”
